Griffin/McKahan/Zilm (GMZ) Graduate Fellowship in Health Facility Planning & Design |Sponsored by Griffin/McKahan/Zilm (GMZ) | Applications Due April 15, 2022
This fellowship has been established by three leaders in healthcare planning through the Foundation for Health Environments Research -Legacy fund. Goals of this fellowship include to encourage research into healthcare programming and planning as well as into the general practice of healthcare architecture.
Research based outcome focused on Programming, Planning and the Practice of Designing
Applicants: Doctoral Students and Young Faculty
Health Facilities Fellowship award(s) range from $2,000 – $9,000
Goals:
• To encourage research related to the programming and planning healthcare facilities
• To attract talented young architects and students to this field
• To advance the knowledge of planning and design for healthcare environments
• To better understand the dynamics of the team environment and what makes successful project delivery teams

The Wilbur H (Tib) Tusler, Jr. Health Design Research Prize | Open
The Tusler Health Design Research Prize recognizes outstanding research in the planning and design of facilities for health. The annual award seeks to acknowledge excellence in applied research through a cash award of $2,500 and special recognition in the Health Environments Research and Design (HERD) peer reviewed journal. Funding of the prize is provided through the Foundation for Health Environments Research.
Deadline: Submissions should be received by January 14, 2022.

Arthur N. Tuttle Jr. Graduate Fellowship in Health Facility Planning and Design | Applications Due April 23, 20201
The Tuttle Fellowship supports graduate students and emerging professionals seeking licensure, increasing their awareness of the needs and nature of healthcare facilities, attracting talented young architects and students to the field and advancing the knowledge of planning and design for healthcare environments. Awards are typically from $2,000 – $10,000.
Goals:
• To increase architecture and healthcare students’ awareness of the special needs and nature of healthcare facilities
• To attract talented young architects and students to this field
• To advance the knowledge of planning and design for healthcare environments
• To establish relevant research material for the profession of healthcare architecture

Healthcare Design’s Best Under 40 (U40) | To open February 2021
The U40 List is an award to celebrate individuals making a significant contribution to the advancement of health facilities design. Each year up to two individuals will be selected to have their names added to the distinguished U40 List. The U40 List recipients will receive a travel stipend to attend the Summer Leadership Summit in Chicago in July.
Applicants should be individuals making a significant impact on healthcare design who will be under 40 years of age on April, 2021 and have worked on healthcare related projects for at least the past five years. For more information, please download the PDF below.

SLS Next Generation Scholarship | To open in March 2021.
The Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) and the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) will sponsor four emerging professionals seeking licensure to attend the Summer Leadership Summit (SLS). The SLS is an annual gathering in Chicago of approximately 175 leaders in healthcare design from the U.S. and around the world. Attendees convene for two days of presentations and panel discussions that address the future of healthcare from the government, healthcare organization and design community perspectives.
Each selected recipient will receive up to a $1,000 reimbursement to cover air travel, hotel room costs, and incidentals. Registration for the summit and tour fees will be complimentary. Scholarship candidates electronically submit application materials. See below for more details.

Herman Miller Healthcare Scholarship | To open April 2021
Herman Miller Healthcare sponsors up to eight emerging professionals seeking licensure to attend the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference, the fall conference of the Center for Health Design/AIA Academy of Architecture for Health. Each selected recipient will receive reimbursement to cover registration fees, air travel, and hotel room costs.
