Jennifer Aliber | Trustee

FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP

Jennifer Aliber is a leader in healthcare design at Shepley Bulfinch, where she specializes in master planning, programming and planning. Her clients include Banner Health, the Mayo Clinic, Northwell Health and Yale New Haven Health. She has served as chair of the Examination Committee of the American College of Healthcare Architects and on the board of the Academy of Architecture for Health. Jennifer presents at a wide range of conferences, including Healthcare Design and the ASHE PDC (The Real Numbers). She is a graduate of Amherst College and received her Master of Architecture from Princeton.

Tatiana Guimaraes | Trustee

Assoc. AIA. LEED AP, CAU

Tatiana is an Associate Principal in Perkins and Will Miami office. She has over 20 years of diversified healthcare planning and design experience. She has maintained major responsibilities across a broad spectrum of projects leading planning teams in the creation of innovative facilities throughout the United States and abroad. She was a board member of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health for 9 years and was President of the AAH in 2015. In addition Tatiana has written several articles for magazines (MCD and HCD) and has presented at a wide range of conferences nationally and internationally, including HCD and PDC. She also is part of the Interior Architecture Advisory Board at Florida International University. Tatiana is a graduate from Clemson University where she received her Master of Architecture and Health diploma.

Jill Bergman | Trustee

AIA, ACHA, LEED AP

Jill is a Principal at HDR, and a leader in healthcare facility design. Jill holds her architecture licensed in California and is an ACHA board certified healthcare architect; and that is a good thing because she tried and failed at a career in standup comedy. Her background is all healthcare projects, mostly large firms, mostly large projects, mostly medical planning. She attended Clemson University for both her BA in Design and M.Arch, Architecture + Health program.
An experienced facilitator, Jill is well versed in leading workshops of all sizes, integrating teams and managing group dynamics. She believes architectural design is a team sport; that hospitals are small magical cities; a short, well-run meeting is a thing of beauty; and the intersection of data and buildings will grow exponentially in the next few years.
In her past, she has taught residencies with the bay area LEAP Architects in School program, served on the AIA San Francisco Board of Directors, the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health National Board of Directors, chaired the Scholarships and Fellowships Committee for the AIA/Academy of Architecture for Health, has spoken at a wide variety of healthcare professional conferences, and won 3rd place in an NYC MOTH Story Slam.

Thomas E. Harvey, Jr. | Trustee

FAIA, FACHA, MPH, LEED® AP

Tom Harvey has over three decades of experience in planning and design of healthcare facilities, all of which has been aimed at a continuous focus on improvement of design for healthcare. Beginning as a healthcare consultant, Tom engaged in strategic and operational planning, functional and space programming, master planning and feasibility studies, and in design consulting to architectural firms. As a Partner and Senior Vice President of HKS Inc., a Tier One international healthcare design firm, he now directs the Clinical Solutions & Research Group of HKS, which has afforded him a profound opportunity to affect, and learn from, an extensive array of projects and healthcare clients. This group is leading the design industry in developing credible evidence regarding the built environment for healthcare.

Tom received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas-Arlington School of Architecture, and he holds dual Master degrees in Architecture with Healthcare Specialization from Rice University and in Public Health from the University of Texas-Houston. He continues to contribute to the academic community of architecture as a Professor for Healthcare Design at the University of Texas-Arlington, and as a researcher with HKS Inc. Tom is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects, serving as the Chairman of the Exam Development Committee for this national organization. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and an active member of the Academy of Architecture for Health, the Environmental Design Research Association, the Center for Health Design and the American College of Healthcare Consultants. Committed to sustainability in healthcare design, Tom is a LEED-accredited design professional. As a President of the Center for Advanced Design and Research & Evaluation (CADRE), Tom frequently reports on findings at national healthcare design programs and he writes in both clinical and peer-reviewed research journals on topics associated with the improvement of our understanding of how design impacts users in the healthcare setting.

Scott H. Miller | President

AIA, FACHA

Mr. Miller is a nationally recognized leader in the architectural profession with more than 30 years of experience in the planning and design of healthcare architecture. With his healthcare facility planning and design experience, Mr. Miller has designed and led teams across a broad spectrum of healthcare projects ranging from doctor suites to multi-million dollar replacement hospitals. His responsibilities have regularly provided him direct on-site exposure to state-of-the-art healthcare delivery systems and facilities throughout the country. He has served as president and board member of national Healthcare organizations, a design juror on national competitions, a planning member of national conferences and is currently serving as an AIA/AAH liaison to the Healthcare Guidelines which is used in 44 states as the code for Healthcare design.

Roger B. Call | Secretary

AIA, ACHA, LEED ® AP

Mr. Call is a registered architect and is currently Director, Healthcare Architecture + Design, for Herman Miller. He is responsible for guiding the strategic direction for the healthcare architecture and design initiatives. During his previous 24 years with Herman Miller, he has had responsibilities for healthcare marketing and for directing research for all areas within the healthcare environment.

Prior to joining Herman Miller in 1985, Mr. Call was employed in private architectural practice with CRS of Houston, HOK of St. Louis, and The Architects Collaborative of Cambridge, MA. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rice University and a Master of Architecture from Washington University, St. Louis. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Academy of Architecture for Health, where he serves on the board of directors, the Clinical Laboratory Management Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and is a LEED Accredited Professional by the U. S. Green Building Council. Mr. Call is board certified in healthcare design by the American College of Healthcare Architects and serves as a Research Coalition member of the Coalition for Health Environments Research, which is a part of the Center for Health Design.

Omri Kenneth Webb IV | Principal

AIA, ACHA, LEED AP BD+C

Kenneth Webb is a Principal and Director of Health in the HKS Washington, DC office. During his 20-year career, he has developed value-driven leadership skills that support a collaborative work environment focused on leading clients and promoting ownership in design solutions that reflect their organizational culture. Kenneth serves as an AIA AAH Board Member and graduated from the Clemson Architecture and Health Program with M. Arch degree from Clemson University.

John Pangrazio | Trustee

FAIA, FACHA

As a teenager John Pangrazio had dreams of becoming a designer / inventor; he was fascinated with how things worked or why they didn’t. He employed his inquiring mind and the power of his imagination to put the pieces together. Architecture became the natural outlet for creativity and thinking. It was the late 1960s that taught him the importance of making a contribution to society. John enlisted in the United States Air Force, Medical Service Corps, and received a direct commission to serve as a Medical Construction Liaison Officer. It was that short, but intense, exposure to military healthcare design that planted the seed of healthcare specialization. After military duty John received a Master of Architecture degree and continued his quest to pursue a career in healthcare architecture. For healthcare architecture, there was only one place to be and that was NBBJ. John joined NBBJ in 1975 and helped grow it into an international design firm of distinction. His design work and practice leadership have allowed him to participate in hundreds of prestigious projects while nurturing others and expanding a new frontier of medical planning and design leadership.
John has led project teams, opened offices, promoted the profession, conducted research, lectured and has written all on behalf of his firm and the profession, while serving clients.

Eugene Damaso | Trustee

AIA

Eugene Damaso is Design Leader and Associate at RLF where he is responsible for crafting a client’s vision through design and master planning in healthcare. He has served the healthcare design community through the Academy of Architecture for Health organizing the ASHE PDC Student Design Challenge that gathers students from around the country to collaborate on healthcare design. In addition, Eugene serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Florida City Lab architecture program in Orlando, FL.

Vincent Della Donna | President Elect

AIA, ACHA

Vincent Della Donna, AIA, ACHA, is the director of healthcare services for Gannett Fleming Architects and Engineers, an architectural and engineering firm with a regional office in South Plainfield, N.J., and corporate headquarters located in Harrisburg, Pa., with a global network of 60 offices.

Mr. Della Donna has the unique ability to understand Gannett Fleming’s healthcare clients’ needs, having spent the majority of his professional career as a client representative. In his leadership of healthcare services, and of specific projects, Mr. Della Donna continues to act as an advocate for professional services that are deeply responsive to client needs.

He has three decades of experience, with a concentration in healthcare for more than twenty years. He maintains active membership with the American Institute of Architects, the Academy of Architecture for Health, and the American Hospital Association and is certified by the American College of Healthcare Architects.

Julie Zook | Trustee

M.Arch., Ph.D.

Julie is an assistant professor of architecture at Texas Tech University and owner of the consultancy ‘Spatial Form’. Dr. Zook’s research, teaching, and consulting are concerned with spatial and aesthetic dimensions of health design, analytical approaches that predict healthcare outcomes, and the use of data in creating a shared language among the design team, clients, and end users. At Texas Tech, Dr. Zook teaches in the Design for Health and Wellness M.Arch. concentration and Master of Science programs.
